We are pleased to announce that this Fall a new student will start his Ph.D. studies in the Language Comprehension Lab.
Benedek Bartha finished his MA studies in Cognitive Science at the University of Edinburgh. He is interested in the relationships between language, cognition and communication, particularly in how speakers make informative and useful choices for the given context and partner(s) and how those choices interact with cross-linguistic patterns.
His PhD will study evidential (information source) expressions, asking how their use, learning, comprehension and evolution are influenced by varying communicative dynamics
